13 persons  arrested for anti social activities during Durga puja

Agartala, Oct. 5: As many as 13 persons had been arrested in connection with different cases of anti-social activities in the city areas during the Puja days, OC West Agartala police station Rana Chatterjee has said. Multiple cases had been registered under the West Agartala Police station related to incidents of scuffling and attacks, he added. 

“A total of 13 persons were arrested. Some of them are already in police remand, some of them are being produced before the court and some of them have their police remand period over and now they would be produced before the court again. A few days back, a man was assaulted when he protested against eve teasing of his wife. The accused persons of this case are here. Later, an incident occurred in our jurisdiction, they had also been arrested and three persons had been arrested for the scuffling that occurred last night in the Dashamighat area. They indulged in a scuffle with a TSR trooper,” Chatterjee explained.

According to Chatterjee, multiple cases had been registered and lawful actions had been initiated against each and every complaint.

“Four of them are in Police Remand, three of them shall be produced before the court and remaining are under police remand,” the OC added.

On being asked, he said that charges are framed against them under various non-bailable sections of the BNS including grievous hurt to attempt to murder based on the complaints received by the police.
