Agartala-Jorhat flight service shortly, says Minister Sushanta Chowdhury

 The Spicejet, a private airline company will introduce Agartala-Jorhat direct flight service, said a senior government official on Thursday.The development came after Tripura’s Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury sought Union Minister for Civil Aviation, Jyotiraditya Scindia’s intervention for introduction of flight service in two routes- Agartala-Jorhat (Assam) and Agartala-Hyderabad.“In a latter addressed to Chowdhury, the Union Minister on November 30 said Jorhat-Agartala and Agartala-Jorhat flight service has been awarded to Spicejet under UDAN scheme. The flight operation in the route will be starting shorlty”, said the official quoting the letter.Scindia said the Hydrabad-Agartala-Hyderabad flight  service was awarded to Indigo and the matter will be taken up again with airline company for introducing service, said the official.  At present, MBB (Agartala) Airport is having air connectivity with cities like Kolkata, Bengaluru, Delhi, Guwahati, Imphal, and Shillong.
