The Minister informed that around 80 farmers, cultivating on 100 hectares of land particularly in South Hadrai and Hawaibari of Khowai district, have grown these lemons.
“Under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha, a programme ‘Prabashi Tripura’ was held, from where Sourav Gupta, a resident of Agartala, took this initiative. Farmers are annadata and they are like God who provide us food. We must give respect to them. The main foundation of India is agriculture. The first priority is agriculture, then tourism, etc. These products will be taken to Kolkata,” he said.
The Minister further informed that soon another consignment of 15,000 scented lemons will be exported.
