Bangladesh national, two middlemen arrested

Agartala, Jun.9 : A Bangaldeshi national along with two Indian middlemen were arrested from Agartala railway station, police said on Monday.
Based on specific inputs, a joint team was carried out checking an express train at Agartala railway station on Sunday night and detained three suspected persons.
Later, Bangladesh national identified as Jhil Mill (63) of Khulna district was arrested for travelling Indian soil without any valid document while two persons identified as Sagar Mandal and Subrata Das of West Tripura district were arrested for assisting Jhil to cross over international national border, Officer in Charge (OC), Agartala GRP police station, Tapas Das told the reporters.
The OC said an investigation has got underway and the trio during preliminary interrogation claimed they wanted to go Delhi for treatment purpose.
“A team of GRP officials have been interrogating the arrested persons to more inputs. It is suspected that more people are involved in a racket that facilitates Bangladesh nationals to enter into Indian territory”, he said.
Earlier, thirteen Bangladesh nationals were arrested from a rented house in West Tripura’s Hapania area on June 3 for illegally staying here. --------- (over)
