Battala crematorium ground facelift work underway, says Mayor Dipak Majumder

 The Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) has undertaken a major development project at the Battala crematorium ground located in the city. Under the project, two new gas based chulli will be installed inside the existing facility and one more chulli will be set up on the roadside to be used during flood situation.“A foundation, high-mast electric post and the Shiv temple will also be facelifted in a bid to increase facilities and beautification. New sitting arrangements will also be made available for convenience of the people who will visit the place to be part of the cremation”, Mayor Dipak Majumder told the media.The Mayor who visited the crematorium to review the progress of works, said Rs. 85 lakh will be spent for the face-lift project. “We are also in the process of developing other crematorium and burial grounds in and around the city”, he said. Majumder added the redevelopment works are expected to be completed by next two or three months
