CPI(M) politburo member Manik Sarkar on Thursday alleged the BJP led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) lacks internal democracy with the saffron party eyeing to win 370 seats in the upcoming Parliamentary elections. The Lok Sabha has 543 seats and seven nominated seats.“The BJP NDA has set a target of winning 400 seat in the Lok Sabha election while the saffron party itself is targeting to win 370 seats alone leaving only 30 seat for 32 non BJP partners”, he said while addressing an election rally in South Tripura’s Belonia. The BJP led NDA has 33 parties including the ruling BJP.“We don’t have any problem. It is up to the NDA partner what they think of the BJP’s target. If the target is materialized, then how will democracy sustain? If the BJP retains the power in the seven phased elections, this election will be the last election for the countrymen “, he said.Coming down heavily on the BJP’s Hindutva ideology, the former Chief Minister claimed the dismantlement of 500 years of Babri Masjid in Uttar Pradesh was injustice.“If Ram is lord why there was need to consecrate it in Ayodhya and that too by Prime Minister Narendra Modi? Actually, the RSS backed BJP has been persistently trying to attack the secular fabric of our constitution to install one-sided role in the country”, he said.Sarkar also put a question mark on the building of new Parliament House even as there was no demand by any MP to have a new structure.“The old Parliament has enough space with more than 600 seating capacity. We have not heard any MP put a demand to build a new Parliament building. PM Modi wanted to glorify his name by inaugurating the new Parliament ignoring the basic problems of the country
