The department of Women’s Studies Centre and Internal Complaint Committee of Tripura University are jointly associated with different engagements as a part of the programme ‘End Discrimination Against Women Pakhwada’ at Tripura University which stared on 25th November that to be continued on 10th December next.
In accordance with the decision of the Ministry of Education, the Women’s Studies Centre has decided several things, to conduct sensitization workshops for all in the university to make them aware about the provisions of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Protection and Redressal) Act 2013, to observe the 25th November as the International Day for the Elimination of Violance against Women, to observe Discrimination against Women Pakhwada from 25th November to 10th December and to conduct special drive to review the pending cases by dint of internal complaints committees.
In connection with the programme, the event like Students’ Rally, Gender Sensitisation Programme for Students, Three Day Self Defence Workshop, Debate Competition, Poster Competition, Street Play and Round Table Consultation are to be organized under the convener of Dr. Rajesh Chaterjee,CSSEIP, Dr.Muneendra Mishra, Department of Physical Education, Dr. Paramasree Dasgupta, Department of Bengali, Prof. Rajesh Bhowmik, Department of Fine Arts, Dr. Sharmils Chhotaray, Department of Sociology and Dr. Ashim Shil, Women’s Studies Centre of Tripura University, said Dr. Paramita Saha, Director of Women’s Studies Centre,Tripura University.
Dr. Ganga Prasad Prasain, VC of Tripura University including professor from different departments of the university are jointly attended in match pass programme with a large section of students in the rally that organized as part of programme ‘End Discrimination against Women Pakhwada at Tripura University’ today.
