Agartala: Dec 14: The government is focusing on creating employment opportunities for the state's youth through the Chief Minister's Skill Development Project. Santana Chakma, the Minister of Industry and Commerce, emphasized that this initiative aims to empower unemployed youth by providing them with skills training in various fields, enabling them to become self-reliant. She made this statement at an event organized today to raise awareness about the MMDEUP (Mukhyamantri Mahila and Youth Development and Employment Program).

At the event, Minister Santana Chakma launched a promotional vehicle and unveiled the logo for the program. The promotional vehicles, designed to spread awareness about the government's skill development programs, will be deployed across every district in the state. These vehicles will help disseminate information to the public and encourage youth participation in the initiative.

Other dignitaries present at the event included the Minister of State for the Department of Industry and Commerce, Brishketu Devvarma, the Chairman of the South Zonal Area of Agartala Municipal Corporation, Pradeep Chand, and renowned state cricketer Manishankar Murasing.

Minister Chakma highlighted that the Chief Minister's Skill Development Project aims to provide both training and employment opportunities for unemployed youth, helping them become self-sufficient. She also revealed that the government plans to launch an app, allowing individuals to express their interest in specific fields of training. Based on the demand, training sessions will be arranged accordingly.

The project is a five-year initiative, with an allocation of Rs. 50 crore, aimed at enhancing skills and improving employment prospects for the youth. This significant investment demonstrates the government's commitment to addressing unemployment and promoting economic development through skill-building and self-reliance.
