Agartala: Dec 17: On Tuesday, the National Cadet Corps (NCC) organized an 'Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat' (One India, Great India) program at the Shahid Bhagat Singh Hostel in the state capital, marking the first such event in the state. Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu graced the occasion, highlighting the significance of NCC in shaping the nation's youth.
In his address to the media, Governor Nallu emphasized the role of the NCC in instilling discipline, patriotism, and a sense of responsibility among both boys and girls. He noted that the organization plays a pivotal role in mentally preparing students for a future in the Indian Army, right from their school days. He also mentioned that many individuals, having participated in the NCC, have risen to prestigious positions in the Indian Army, with some reaching the rank of Major General.
The Governor further appealed to parents, urging them to encourage their children to join NCC training programs. He explained that such involvement would help steer youngsters away from distractions like smartphones and addictive habits. Instead, NCC would cultivate a strong sense of discipline and patriotism among the youth, he added.
After his speech, Governor Nallu interacted with the students, motivating them to consider joining the NCC and participate actively in its activities. He called on the youth of the state to engage in NCC programs in the future, fostering a sense of national pride and readiness to serve the country. The event served as an important reminder of the role NCC plays in shaping the leaders of tomorrow, both in the military and in society at large.
