International Conference PASEL-2025 to Be Inaugurated at Pragna Bhawan, Agartala

The International Conference on “The Pursuit for Sustainable Hill Farming: Innovations for Profitability and Ecological Balance to Ensure a Future Livelihood (PASEL-2025)” will be inaugurated at Pragna Bhawan, Agartala, on 20th November 2025. The two-day event will be jointly organized by the ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Tripura Centre, and the Indian Association of Hill Farming (IAHF).The inaugural session will commence with registration at 9:00 AM, followed by the arrival of delegates and dignitaries. The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tripura, Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha, will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest and will inaugurate the exhibition stalls at 10:30 AM.The programme will include the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, felicitation of dignitaries, and a series of addresses by eminent speakers. Dr. B. U. Choudhury, Head of the Regional Centre, ICAR RC for NEH Region, Tripura Centre, will deliver the welcome address. This will be followed by speeches from Dr. Samarendra Hazarika, Director, ICAR RC for NEH Region, Umiam; Prof. (Dr.) R.K. Saha, Vice Chancellor, Techno India University Tripura; and Prof. (Dr.) Shyamal Das, Vice Chancellor, Tripura University.Dr. K.M. Bujarbaruah, Former DDG, ICAR, New Delhi, and Shri Jitendra Majumdar, Hon’ble MLA, Kakraban Constituency, will also address the gathering as distinguished guests.During the inaugural function, the IAHF Awards will be presented, followed by the release of the Souvenir and Book of Abstracts by the Chief Minister. The Chief Guest will then deliver his address before the session concludes with a vote of thanks by Dr. Lopamudra Sahoo, Organizing Secretary.The programme will end with the national anthem and a high tea session. The conference aims to foster discussions on innovations and strategies for achieving sustainability and profitability in hill farming systems across Northeast India
