Patient dies of alleged medical negligence

Agartala, June. 15: A patient of Dopurban under Dharmanagar police station died of alleged medical negligence at Dharmanagar district hospital on Sunday.
The death has irked the patient parties.
The deceased’s daughter told the media that her mother identified as Sukla Das (60) was having a stomachache since afternoon and as it did not subside by evening ,using home remedies, she was bought to Dharmangar hospital.
The doctors gave her two shots and sent the patient back assuring that she will be fine .
“Even after returning home the stomachache didn’t go down and instead he started screaming due to acute pain. Seeing her condition, we brought her to the hospital at 6 AM and was admitted in the hospital”, Rinki Saha, the patient’s daughter said.
She continued, “During the day she was given saline and administered injections. But my mother stopped urinating resulting in her bladder got swelled. Seeing her worsening condition, we informed the doctor who told us to wait for 40 minutes”.
The deceased’s daughter claimed “We waited for the doctor throughout the day but until 10 PM but no doctor turned up to see my mother and ultimately, she died”.
“Had the doctor attended my mother who was battling for life, she would not have been died. We lost our mother because of doctors’ negligence”, she added. ---------- (over)
