Agartala: May 11: Authorities in Tripura have launched an investigation following the discovery of Shariful Islam's body in a deep freezer at a betel shop in Narayanpur, Gandachhara. The incident, which has drawn significant public attention, prompted swift action from law enforcement.

Earlier today, a police team from Agartala arrived in Gandachhara to recover the body, joined by local police and forensic experts. Six individuals—four men and two women—have been arrested in connection with the case. West Tripura’s Superintendent of Police, Dr. Kiran Kumar K., provided details to the media.

According to police reports, the victim was allegedly lured out of his home on June 8 by two acquaintances, Dr. Dibakar Saha and Joydeep Das. Upon arrival at Joydeep's residence, Shariful Islam was reportedly suffocated in the presence of two other individuals, Nabanita Das and Animesh Yadav. Authorities suggest that the motive behind the crime may be linked to personal relationships.

Further investigations indicate that the suspects transported the victim's body to Gandachhara the following morning, where it was placed inside a freezer at a shop owned by Dibakar Saha’s father. Based on confessions obtained during questioning, law enforcement recovered the body today.

The case remains under active investigation as authorities continue to gather evidence and examine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
