Preparations completed, counting of ADC elections on Friday amidst tight security

Preparations for counting of Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) votes will be held  in all the eight districts on Friday amidst tight security.Polling for 28 seats of the tribal council, which was held on April 12 recorded an impressive voter participation with 83.50 percent which was higher than that of the 2021 elections with 81 percent in 2021.“We have taken all possible steps to conduct the counting of polled EVMs in 17 locations of the state on Friday. All the necessary instructions have been passed to the Returning Officers (ROs)”, secretary of state election commission, Anurag Sen said.He added the counting is scheduled to commence from 8 am and expected to complete the process by 1 or 2 pm.“A prohibitory order under section 163 BNS has already been imposed in and around the counting halls to ensure peace during the counting process. A foolproof security has been mulled in all the counting halls”, he said.Altogether 173 candidates of all the major political parties- BJP, Tipra Motha Party (TMP), CPI(M) and Congress are in the electoral fray.District Magistrate (DM) of Dhalai district, Vivek H held meeting with the Superintendent of Police (SP) and poll officials at the conference hall of DM Office to review the counting day preparation on Thursday.  The meeting was aimed at ensuring smooth, secure, and transparent counting.District Magistrate of Khowai district, Rajat Pant visited counting hall at Khowai to review the preparations for the counting
