Three arrested for defrauding millions of rupees

Agartala: Dec 20: Three young men were arrested for defrauding millions of rupees by hacking bank accounts under the guise of call centers. The police initiated an investigation upon receiving complaints, which led them to uncover an international fraud ring. Acting on a tip-off, the police apprehended the three individuals last night from a hotel in Udaipur's Matabari area. This operation revealed a major breakthrough in exposing the cyber fraud network.
According to Gomati District Additional Superintendent of Police, Saumik De, the fraudsters specifically targeted senior citizens. Using computer software, they hacked into victims' bank accounts, siphoning off large sums of money. The arrested individuals were identified as Henry Lalfomkima (29), Dija Moni Molsom (45), and Samrat Molsom (27), all residents of the Killa Tentai area in Udaipur subdivision.
The police also revealed that for a long period, the fraudsters had been making calls from unknown numbers, hacking into various bank accounts, and illegally transferring large amounts of money. Victims of this scam included journalists, teachers, retired doctors, and other professionals. The police are now investigating whether these three individuals are connected to other such fraudulent activities.
The three suspects are scheduled to be presented in court today, and further investigations are underway to uncover the full extent of their involvement in the fraud.
