Agartala: Dec 17: On Tuesday, Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury chaired a meeting to congratulate the officials and staff involved in the successful 'Tripura Tourism Promo Fest-2024'. He expressed his satisfaction with the efforts made by the Tourism Department and acknowledged the dedication shown by everyone who worked tirelessly to make the event a success.
Speaking to the media, Chowdhury highlighted the massive response the first edition of the Tourism Promo Fest received. The event, inaugurated by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on December 3 at Narkelkunja, also featured Neermahal and culminated with a historic concert by Shreya Ghoshal at Swami Vivekananda Maidan in Agartala on December 14.
Chowdhury stated that the meeting was an opportunity to congratulate all those who had worked day and night to ensure the festival's success. He emphasized the government's aim to expand the event in the future to attract global tourists.
However, despite the positive reception, there were reports of certain organizational issues. Public opinion highlighted gaps, such as problems with the distribution of entry passes for Shreya Ghoshal’s concert and VIP seating arrangements. These issues sparked criticism from the public. Additionally, the absence of Tripura Tourism’s brand ambassador, Sourav Ganguly, throughout the event led to speculations among the people, questioning his role and involvement in the fest. Despite these concerns, the overall response to the event remained positive.
