CM Manik Saha appeals electors to increase BJP's vote share by 10 percent

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Friday asserted Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the guarantee of all-round development of tribal and non-tribal people, who are living peacefully in the northeastern state for decades.“Prime Minister Narendrda Modi strongly believes all-round development of Tripura will not be possible if tribal and non tribal people are not economically and socially empowered. His (PM’s) Act East policy has brought a sea change to Tripura especially in connectivity and welfare measures”, he said during an election rally at Mandwai, a tribal dominated area of West Tripura district.The Bru refugees who had been leading a miserable life for 23 years in relief camps have now been permanently settled in the northeastern state through a historic agreement and it was possible because of the Prime Minister, he said. The Centre has sanctioned Rs. 100 crore special economic package for tribal welfare, the Chief inister said the BJP led government has already sent a proposal to empower Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) by increasing its seats from 30 to 50.Claiming that the BJP led government has given due attention to the welfare of tribal, Saha said as many as 12 tribal majority blocks have been identified as aspirational blocks in which 10 percent extra budgetary outlay is made compulsory to spend.Saha said his government doesn’t discriminate between the tribal and non tribal when it comes to the welfare of the people. “Altogether 1.32 lakh households got electricity connection while 4.50 lakh units of PMAY have been allocated for the state and out of which construction of 3.90 lakh have already been completed. As many as 5.12 lakh families have enrolled under Ayushamn Bharat scheme”, he said
