Agartala:  April 26: Niranjan Pal, the Presiding Officer at Booth No. 44 in Ward 27, faced serious allegations of influencing the voting process. Voters reported instances where they were coerced to return home without casting their ballots. The matter gained media attention, prompting intervention from higher authorities.

Sector Officer Tapan Das swiftly arrived at the polling station, engaging with voters and assessing the situation. After thorough evaluation, it was determined that Pal had not fulfilled his duties adequately. Responding to public demands, Pal was promptly replaced.

Residents of Kamalnagar, part of the Kalyanpur Pramodnagar assembly constituency, had encountered difficulties due to Pal’s actions throughout the day. The sector officer’s effective intervention restored confidence among voters, ensuring a smoother electoral process.
