Police Seize Brown Sugar Worth Lakhs: Two arrest

Agartala: April 16:  In a significant development ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, the Birganj police executed a search operation along the Amarpur-Gandachhara road, resulting in the apprehension of two youths. These individuals were found in possession of brown sugar with an estimated value in lakhs of rupees.

According to a police officer, they received specific information on Monday regarding two youths planning to sell drugs while riding bikes along the Amarpur-Gandachhara road. Acting swiftly, the police conducted the operation and successfully detained the suspects. Upon searching them, they discovered the substantial quantity of brown sugar. Consequently, both youths were taken into custody.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Jibonjoy Tripura and Serenjay Tripura, both residents of Rani Pukur under the jurisdiction of the Gandachhara police station.
