Priyanka joins roadshow, campaigns for INDIA Bloc candidates in city

Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi on Tuesday joined the campaign for INDIA Bloc candidates for Tripura West Lok Sabha constituency and byelection to Ramnagar Assembly constituency.While Pradesh Congress president Asish Kumar Saha is contesting as INDIA Bloc candidate for Tripura West Lok Sabha constituency, CPI(M)’s former MLA Ratan Das is the INDIA Bloc nominee for Ramnagar Assembly byelection.Priyanka joined a road show touching almost all important locations of Agartala city and waved to the thousands of crowds standing on both sides of the roads.  Senior party leader Sudip Roy Barman and CPI(M) state secretary Jitendra Chaudhury also remained present in the roadshow.“Congress general Priyanka Gandhi hit out at the BJP led NDA government on various issues like unemployment, farmers’ woes and problems being faced by the labourers. She also criticized the BJP for putting democracy at stake”, Congress MLA Birajit Sinha told as Priyanka Gandhi said during her brief speech.“It is a big boost for the Congress leaders, workers and supporters as Priyanka, granddaughter of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi visited the state ahead of the Parliamentary election. The traffic system of the city came to a standstill due to the roadshow. The people acknowledged the love and affection towards the Gandhi family by cheering for Priyanka during the roadshow”, Sinha, a former Pradesh Congress president said
