Agartala: April 12:  On Friday, a significant public gathering took place in the tribal village of Dakshin Taibandal under the Dhanpur assembly constituency. The event was organized in support of Biplab Kumar Dev, the BJP candidate in the 18th national election.

Despite his physical ailment, Tipra Matha Dal supremo Pradyot Kishore Deb Barman was expected to address the crowd. Regrettably, due to health reasons, he could not attend the meeting in person. However, his message reached the attendees through a mobile phone connection facilitated by two Tipra Matha party leaders present at the event.

In his brief three-and-a-half-minute speech, Pradyot Kishore Deb Barman candidly shared, “My health is not optimal; I am grappling with kidney and uric acid issues.” He assured the audience that he would visit Dhanpur in the coming days, conducting a roadshow across various locations, including Taibandal within the assembly constituency.

Pradyot Kishore Deb Barman emphasized that the ongoing Lok Sabha elections would witness the CPM-Congress alliance’s defeat. Referring to their agreement with Amit Shah, he urged voters to cast their ballots without hesitation for his “brother” Biplab Kumar Dev. According to him, this choice would pave the right path for Tiprasad’s future. He appealed to voters to consider their children’s well-being, emphasizing that their struggle transcended political affiliations.

The symbol of this vote, he declared, was not the pineapple but the lotus flower. Biplab Kumar Dev’s vision, he asserted, aimed at a harmonious and contented existence for all. Meanwhile, Pradyot Kishore Deb Barman criticized the CPM Congress, accusing them of betrayal. While the CPM sought to defeat Rahul Gandhi in Kerala, their actions in Tripura revealed a different story.
