Eviction operation against encroachers in Lakhimpur's Pav Reserve Forest on Tuesday

Lakhimpur (Assam), January 9 (H.S.): Administration's eviction drive against encroachers will continue in Pav reserve forest area of Lakhimpur district tomorrow, Tuesday. For this, police and paramilitary teams have been deployed in the respective areas since this morning

Police and CRPF jawans also completed a mock drill in the respective areas today. About 600 armed police and CRPF jawans have been deployed, an administration official said. They did their mock drill today from noon to afternoon.

He said that 501 hectares of land in Pav reserved forest area will be rescued from the clutches of the encroachers. However, he said that most of the encroachers have already moved to other places after receiving the notice from the administration. Therefore, he thinks, there will be no disturbance in tomorrow's eviction operation.
