Agartala: July 06: In Kamalasagar Assembly Constituency, residents of Matinagar 12th Class School organized a protest today to raise concerns about rampant drug abuse within the school. According to reports, students discovered numerous bottles of alcoholic beverages and other intoxicants on the school premises, including inside classrooms. The residents promptly informed the school authorities, who promised to investigate the matter.

In addition to the drug abuse issue, residents criticized the school management committee for its perceived inactivity in addressing the problem. They also highlighted the lack of basic amenities such as clean drinking water, electricity, and proper sanitation, which they believe is tarnishing the school’s reputation.

Furthermore, some residents accused the school management committee members of selling school property with the assistance of the headmaster. In response, they have appealed to the state education minister to intervene and take necessary action. As of now, the school authorities have not issued an official statement regarding these allegations.
