Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha Casts Vote in West Tripura Lok Sabha Elections

Agartala, April 19: Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha exercised his democratic right by casting his vote in the West Tripura Lok Sabha elections. Accompanied by a sense of civic duty, he visited the Maharani Tulsivati Girls’ School polling station in Agartala to participate in this significant electoral process.

In response to allegations of electoral irregularities raised by the opposition, Chief Minister Saha dismissed any notion of farce in the election. He emphasized the importance of the ongoing democratic festival, stating that Indian elections hold global significance. Citizens across the nation actively engage in this democratic celebration, dedicating their entire day to the electoral process.

As the first round of elections unfolds today, Chief Minister Saha expressed hope that all eligible voters would exercise their franchise peacefully. While he did not perceive any obstruction faced by opposition polling agents, he emphasized that such hindrances were undesirable. He called upon the Election Commission to take necessary action if any irregularities were observed.

Earlier today, Chief Minister Saha conveyed a message to Tripura’s voters via social media. He highlighted the commencement of the nationwide first phase of elections to form the 18th Lok Sabha. Alongside other states, polling has already commenced in West Tripura Lok Sabha constituencies and 7 Ramnagar assembly constituencies. In an earnest appeal, he urged all voters to actively participate in this festival of democracy, contributing to the state’s progress. His special plea extended to new voters and mothers of the younger generation, encouraging them to exercise their right to vote.
