Airport Police Arrest Bir Chakra Ghosh in Bharat Ratna Sangha General Secretary Murder Case

Agartala, May 6th — In a significant development, the Airport police have apprehended Bir Chakra Ghosh, alias ‘Nigo Mafia,’ in connection with the murder of Bharat Ratna Sangha General Secretary Durga Prasanna Deb. Bir Chakra Ghosh, who had been on the run, was captured in Kolkata’s Mukundapur and subsequently brought back to Agartala.

This marks the second arrest related to the case. Earlier, authorities had taken into custody Durga Prasanna Deb, also known as ‘Viki,’ following the fatal shooting that occurred on Tuesday evening in Hathipara, Shalbagan, Agartala. After the tragic incident, Bir Chakra Ghosh had fled to Kolkata, but diligent police work led to his arrest in the city yesterday. The investigation continues as authorities seek to unravel the motives behind this heinous crime.
