Agartala, May 18: In preparation for the Lok Sabha elections in West Tripura, authorities have implemented a comprehensive three-tier security arrangement at polling stations for the upcoming counting day. Dr. Biswajit Kumar, District Magistrate and Returning Officer for the West Tripura Lok Sabha constituency, announced these measures.

The vote counting process is scheduled to take place at Umakanta Academy in Agartala on June 4. To ensure a smooth and secure counting process, all necessary security protocols have been put in place. Extensive consultations have occurred with various political parties, and they are actively training their designated counting agents. Each political party can have between 150 to 170 counting agents present at each polling station. On the day of counting, approximately 1000 counting agents will oversee the results for the 9 candidates competing for the West Tripura Lok Sabha seat.

Additionally, rigorous training has been completed for Counting Supervisors, Counting Assessors, and Micro Observers across all subdivisions. These officials play a crucial role in maintaining transparency and accuracy during the counting process.

Furthermore, the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) are securely stored under the implemented security arrangements. The three-tier security measures extend to all polling stations on counting day, with particular attention given to sensitive locations.

The administration remains committed to ensuring a fair and efficient election process, safeguarding the integrity of the democratic exercise in West Tripura.
