Agartala: Feb 04: Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) Mayor Deepak Majumder visited Lake Chowmuhani market today and issued a stern warning to the market committee, emphasizing that any illegal activity within the market would not be tolerated. The Mayor's visit followed a discussion meeting held on Wednesday, aimed at addressing the development of the market and curbing illegal activities.

In the meeting, which was attended by market traders, Municipal Commissioner Dr. Shailesh Kumar Yadav, Corporator Bhaswati Debbarma, 7-Ramnagar Mandal President Amitabh Bhattacharya, and the Secretary of the market management committee, Mayor Majumder outlined plans to modernize Lake Chowmuhani market. He stressed the importance of collaboration with the traders to achieve the goal of creating a more developed and organized market.

The Mayor highlighted that several complaints had been received from both traders and local residents about the functioning of the market management committee. These complaints largely focused on illegal activities, which have been affecting the market's overall operations. He assured the traders that strict actions would be taken to stop such activities and bring about improvements.

Traders raised various concerns during the meeting, presenting proposals for the betterment of the market. Mayor Majumder assured them that their problems would be addressed promptly and that the market would be developed into a more efficient and modern space.
