Agartala: Dec 27: Ahead of the assembly elections, the state government has announced to give 12 percent dearness allowance and dearness relief to the teaching staff and pensioners of the state. Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha made this announcement at a press conference on Tuesday.

The current government first announced three percent dearness allowance and dearness relief when it came to power. After almost three years for the teaching staff and pensioners of the state. Then the state government announced five percent dearness allowance in the month of August this year.

The state government paid 8% dearness allowance to the state employees in four and a half years. The dearness allowance difference between the central government employees and the state teaching staff remained thirty percent.

The demands of the teachers and pensioners started to settle the arrears of expensive allowances and expensive reliefs. Finally, the state government is shaking in the face of Assembly elections. State Government decided to pay a two-figure dearness allowance. Similarly, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha held a press conference in Secretariat on Tuesday. He announced to give 12 percent dearness allowance and dearness relief to teaching staff and pensioners in the state. It will be effective from December 1 this year. Fixed salary employees will also get this opportunity.
