Body found floating on pond at Kamalpur

Tension gripped Harer Khola area after a dead body was recovered floating in a pond located near the local school at Kamalpur. The deceased was identified as Rajesh Das, 37. He was later identified to be local and son of the late Nirmal Chandra Das. .Rajesh's elder brother, Rakesh Das, said that Rajesh was unmarried and a graduate. He was infamous for his habit of drinking. For the past four or five days, Rajesh had not eaten properly.On Thursday, he abstained from alcohol. There was a heavy downpour on Thursday afternoon. It is believed that Rajesh went to the pond before evening to check if the fish were escaping due to the overflow of the water because of the rain. He may have felt dizzy and fallen into the pond, unable to get out.When Rajesh did not return home by evening, his mother informed Rakesh that Rajesh was missing. Despite searching the neighbourhood, they could not find him. On Friday morning, Rakesh found Rajesh's body floating in their pond. The incident caused a commotion in the area. The body was later shifted to Bimal Sinha memorial hospital for autopsy
