Agartala: Mar 23: On Sunday, a significant event took place in Ward 36 of the Agartala Municipal Corporation with the groundbreaking ceremony for a new market shed, which has been estimated to cost ₹65 lakh. The ceremony was attended by Deepak Majumdar, the MLA of Ramnagar constituency and Mayor of Agartala. The project is expected to improve local infrastructure and offer a better space for market activities in the area.

During the event, Majumdar also addressed journalists, touching upon a recent issue involving the CPI(M) party. He commented on an alleged attack during a CPI(M) meeting, claiming that the attack was carried out not by external forces but by former supporters of the party itself. According to the Mayor, the incident was a result of the CPI(M)'s internal factional conflict, describing it as a manifestation of group rivalry within the party.

Majumdar went on to suggest that the CPI(M)'s internal divisions have become more visible, and rather than acknowledging their internal strife, the party is now attempting to blame the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the incident. The Mayor characterized this move as an effort to mislead the public and divert attention from the party's internal issues.

The comments made by Majumdar reflect the ongoing political tensions in the region, with various parties seeking to assert their narratives and influence public perception. His remarks highlight the complex dynamics within the CPI(M), as well as the broader political landscape in Tripura, where accusations and rivalries continue to shape the discourse. The mayor’s statements underline the ongoing political competition and the strategy of blaming opposition parties for internal challenges.
