Govt takes plan for recruitment of various healthcare professionals under the Health and Family Welfare Department for financial year 2025-26

Agartala: April 01: During the seventh day of the Legislative Assembly's budget session, in response to a question raised by MLA Ashok Chandra Mitra, Health Minister and Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha provided significant updates regarding the recruitment of doctors and nurses in the state. The Chief Minister informed the assembly that plans are in place for the recruitment of various healthcare professionals under the Health and Family Welfare Department for the financial year 2025-26. This recruitment process is currently being managed by the Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC).
Dr. Saha highlighted several ongoing and upcoming recruitment initiatives. Specifically, the process to fill 13 vacant posts of Medical Officers (Ayurveda) in TAS Grade-IV is already underway. In addition, the government is actively working to fill six vacant positions for Medical Officers (Dental) in TDS Grade-IV. The recruitment of 332 Nursing Officers to address the shortage of healthcare staff in the state’s health sector is also in progress.
Furthermore, the government is not only focused on filling existing vacancies but is also taking steps to create 100 new positions within the department. The Chief Minister expressed optimism that all these vacancies will be filled within the financial year 2025-26.
The government's recruitment plans aim to tackle the pressing issue of healthcare manpower shortages, which have long been a challenge for the state. By filling these vacancies, the administration intends to strengthen the healthcare system, improve service delivery, and enhance the quality of medical care available to the people of Tripura. These efforts reflect the government's commitment to ensuring adequate healthcare staffing to meet growing demands and provide better services to the population.
