YouTuber Arrested in Agartala for Posting Anti-National and Objectionable Content

Agartala, May 3: A young man has been arrested by West Agartala police for allegedly posting anti-national and objectionable content targeting women on social media. The accused, identified as Alamin Hossain, is a resident of Rajnagar and the creator of a YouTube channel named "Mr. Huncho."
According to police sources, Hossain had been consistently uploading controversial and offensive videos on his channel, which prompted public outrage. Recently, Tushar Kanti Acharya, along with five others, lodged a formal complaint against him at the West Agartala police station. Acting on the complaint, police initiated an investigation and subsequently arrested Hossain on Friday.
The officer-in-charge of West Agartala police station, Paritosh Das, confirmed the arrest. He stated that a case had been registered against the YouTube channel "Mr. Huncho" for spreading inappropriate and anti-national content. “The investigation was initiated a few days ago, and based on the evidence gathered, the accused was taken into custody,” said Das.
On Saturday, the police produced Alamin Hossain in court and requested five days of police remand for further interrogation and digital evidence collection. Authorities are also examining the content on the channel and investigating whether others were involved in the creation or promotion of the videos.
The arrest has sparked discussions on the growing concern over misuse of digital platforms to spread harmful content. Police have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any such activities immediately.
Meanwhile, efforts are underway to take down the offensive content from YouTube, and the platform may be contacted to assist in the investigation.
The case highlights the importance of responsible digital behavior and the legal consequences of spreading misinformation or derogatory content online.
