Three Bangladeshi, one Indian tout arrested in separate operations

Agartala, Apr. 29 : In two separate operations, three Bangladeshi nationals and one Indian tout were arrested from Sonamura and Agartala railway station on Tuesday.
The Indian tout who had been arrested from Agartala Railway Station is identified as Jakir Hossain, a resident of Dhanpur Bazar area.
Speaking on the issue, Agartala Government Railway Police Station Officer-in-charge Tapas Das said, “We have received inputs from an arrested Bangladeshi individual about the accused person. He was wanted in connection with the case. Accordingly, he had been arrested and produced before the court.”
On being asked whether he had been involved in other cases or not, he said, “The details of the accused person had been shared with all the police stations to ascertain whether he is wanted in other cases or not. So far we know, he used to extend logistic support to the Bangladeshis crossing over to India unlawfully.”
In a separate operation carried out by cops, a police team arrested three Bangladeshi nationals from Baidyanath area, a bordering village under the jurisdiction of the Jatrapur police station.
Speaking on the issue, OC Subrata Debnath said, “We received secret information that Three Bangladeshi nationals are hiding in Baidyanath village. Accordingly, TSR and police personnel reached the spot and identified the house. The house was cordoned off and they were arrested. When we asked for their papers, they failed to furnish any valid documents related to their entry into India. We also searched the house and seized two drums full of cannabis.” The arrested Bangladeshi nationals had been identified as Mainul Islam, Taijul Islam and Jahirullah.
