Bikash bats for modernisation of ST hostel

Agartala, Apr. 30 : Tribal Welfare Minister Bikash Debbarma on Wednesday said that efforts are underway to modernise all the hostels run by his department across the state. 

The Minister was speaking to the media persons during a state level review meeting held at Pragna Bhavan, Debbarma said, “Today, we have gathered here for a review meeting in the presence of all district and subdivision level welfare officers. The primary agenda of the meeting is education. We have been toiling hard to make sure that more and more students can access better education through government schemes.” On being asked about hostels, he said, “District Education officers and other stakeholders who have a role to play in the management of hostels have also arrived here. There are certain lapses related to proper management of the hostels which needs to be addressed as early as possible. In view of the above, we have convened this review meeting.” 

The Minister also informed that six new Eklavya Model Residential Schools shall start operations in the state soon while four Ashram Schools which are now imparting primary level education shall be upgraded to upper-primary and senior basic level.
