Lorry driver dies, two more injured in fatal accident

Agartala, Mar. 31: In a traffic incident, a lorry driver died and two more labourers were injured when a sand laden vehicle fell into a gorge at Anandanagar in West district. The slain was identified as Rakesh Debnath (39) of Malaynagar.

According to eyewitnesses, the sand laden truck was proceeding towards Agartala from Anandanagar on Monday. At around 10.30 am, the driver lost control and fell into a 40-feet gorge. He died on the spot while two labouers were seriously injured.

After receiving information, a police team rushed to the spot and recovered the body. The two injured persons were admitted to hospital. It appears the driver lost control over the vehicle leading to the fatal accident.

A case has been registered and investigation is on.
