₹17,21,87,000 allocates for English Medium College at the site of the old central jail

Agartala: Mar 28: The construction of an English Medium College at the site of the old central jail has officially begun, with a budget allocation of ₹17,21,87,000 for the project. This announcement was made by Education Minister and Chief Minister, Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha, during the sixth day of the Tripura Legislative Assembly session. The information was shared in response to a non-starred question raised by CPM legislator, Dipankar Sen.

Mr. Saha highlighted the importance of the new college, stating that the establishment of the English Medium College would contribute significantly to the educational development of the region. The decision to build the college at the old central jail site is part of the government's broader initiative to enhance the quality of education in the state, particularly for students seeking education in English.
