Main Accused in Shooting case Arrested in Jharkhand

Agartala: May 09: Akash Kar, one of the main accused in the sensational shooting incident that occurred in the Hatirpar area of Shalbagan, the capital, on April 30, has been apprehended in Jharkhand. The Tripura Police dispatched a team to Jharkhand on Thursday to bring Akash Kar back to the state.

Akash Kar, allegedly the central figure in the incident, had been evading capture since the murder of Durga Prasad Deb (alias Vicky), the secretary of the Bharat Ratna Sangha Club. His name surfaced during the interrogation of detainees and through CCTV investigation.

The police are also investigating his involvement in a previous shooting incident. Additionally, another individual named Sunny Saha was arrested in connection with the same murder case near Agartala Hindu School.

Efforts are underway to bring Akash Kar to Agartala for transit remand, and he is expected to be produced directly in court. The police remain vigilant in their pursuit of justice.
