One Day Awareness Cum Input Distribution Program Organized.

Amarpur, 24th of March 2025. With the collaborative initiative of ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries Education, Mumbai, CIFE and Krishi Vigyan Kendra Gomati a one day awareness cum input distribution programme over culture of magur for improvement of livelihood in small water bodies in Gomati district under NHE programme has been conducted here in KVK in Amarpur in Gomati Tripura today. In the presence of many dignitaries the Amarpur BAC chairman Rabitra Jamatia has inaugurated the event. On this occasion a large number of fish farmers from all over Amarpur subdivision have assembled here in the programme venue and availed different kinds of magur fish farming implementation knowledge from the concerned departmental resource persons. The programme resource person Mr. Dhalongsaih Reang, scientist, (ICAR-central institute of fisheries education, Mumbai) has provided all concerned genuine tips to the beneficiary participants over the magur fish cultivation to generate improvement for livelihood. Sources said, native magur fish is most healthful and tasty; it has much demand too all over the country. To avail genuine magur fish implementation tips through this programme local farmers were found enthusiastic. As per the report, through this programme beneficiaries were provided input like fingerlings, fish feeds and other additional amenities to accelerate the beneficiaries' project. The programme was coordinated by Dr. AK Verma and Shashi Bhushan from Mumbai. The director of ICAR-central institute of fisheries education Dr. Ravishankar CN has emphasized the importance of CIFE for promoting scientific fish culture in such remote parts of the country. Amidst the other dignitaries there were Ranadhir Sharma, senior scientist, KVK Gomati, Binoy Tripura, SMS, Gomati, Alish Debbarma, SMS, Gomati, Birsing Jamatia, all Tripura farmers club president and many others remained present in this motivational programme.
