Tensions Rise in Mandabkilla Village Over ONGC Drilling Dispute

Agartala: May 07: Mandabkilla village, located under the jurisdiction of Bishalgarh police station, has become a focal point of tension due to ongoing drilling activities by the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC). Recent developments have escalated the conflict, leading to legal action against villagers who allegedly obstructed the drilling work.

The dispute centers around drilling operations conducted by ONGC workers in the village of Lalshingmuru. Villagers claim that the drilling and controlled explosions are causing damage to their pucca paddy fields, resulting in overflow issues. Cracks have also appeared in several houses, raising concerns about safety and potential accidents.

In response to these allegations, ONGC authorities have taken legal measures by filing a case against four villagers at the Bishalgarh police station. The situation remains tense as ONGC personnel, accompanied by police and TSRF (Tripura State Rifles Force), revisited the area this morning.
