Vikki murder: Cops conducts search in two houses, prime accused still at large

As part of investigation into murder of Bharat Ratna Sangh’s secretary Durga Prasanna Deb alias Vikki, police on Tuesday carried out searches in the houses of Pradyot Dhar and Sukanta Gupta.During an hour-long search, police seized some documents including bank pass books from Pradyot Dhar, the former secretary of the club. Although cops are tight lipped over the outcome of the search, it appears that the investigating officer is trying to find the money trail to detect the case. The police suspect money could be the reason behind the murder of Vikki, who became the secretary of the club around three month back replacing Raju Barman & Co.Interestingly, police despite laying trap in different places are yet to arrest the FIR named accused persons including Raju Barman.According to the victim's wife, it was Raju Barman who had threatened her husband (Vikki) of dire consequence as he (Vikki) replaced Raju and his team. Sources said, Raju who had been the secretary for the past four years was replaced three months back by club members as the committee’s tenure is fixed for two years
