Agartala: Mar 15: At the Dharmanagar Inter-State Bus Terminal, the Border Security Force (BSF) Intelligence Branch (G Branch) successfully detained four individuals from the Rohingya community, including two young women, in a significant operation based on intelligence inputs. The operation was conducted with the primary aim of preventing illegal migration and ensuring national security.
According to the details of the incident, the BSF acted upon confidential information and carried out a special operation at the bus terminal. The four Rohingyas, including the two women, were apprehended during the operation. Preliminary questioning revealed that they had illegally crossed the Bangladesh-India border and were attempting to travel further into India. The detained individuals were immediately handed over to the local police for further investigation and legal proceedings, as per the protocol.
The BSF, in its statement, emphasized the importance of maintaining heightened vigilance along the border areas to prevent illegal cross-border movement, which poses potential security risks. The agency has also expressed its commitment to continuing its efforts to safeguard the nation’s borders from illegal migration, trafficking, and other unlawful activities.
In light of this incident, security agencies have been put on high alert to ensure stricter monitoring of border regions and transit points like bus terminals, where individuals may attempt to enter the country unlawfully. The authorities are working in close coordination with local law enforcement to tackle such cases effectively and uphold the law. The detention of these individuals highlights the ongoing challenges in managing border security and the importance of intelligence-driven operations in curbing illegal immigration.
