BSF jawan hurt in accidental fire from own rifle

Agartala: A-24-year old BSF Jawan suffered a self-inflicted bullet injury on his left chest on Monday morning at Maharani BOP of Karbook under Gomati district of Tripura. The injured trooper is identified as Mani Kundan, an on duty doctor of Gomati District Hospital, Udaipur informed media persons. 

The doctor said, the injured BSF Jawan had been admitted to Natun bazar hospital initially from where he had been referred to Gomati District Hospital.

“He had suffered a gunshot in the left side of his chest. After emergency treatment, we have referred him to GB Pant Hospital Agartala for advanced treatment,” the doctor added. 

On being asked about his condition, she said, “His condition is still critical.” 

On being contacted, sources in the BSF said that the BSF trooper got hurt due to an accidental fire from his own rifle. The matter is being properly investigated. The sources also ruled out any possibility of suicide attempt.
