65 water bodies to be renovated in city: Mayor

Agartala: As many as 65 water bodies of Agartala city which had been left abandoned or not in the state of public use are being developed and restored by Agartala Municipal Corporation, Mayor Dipak Majumder said on Monday. 

Speaking to the media persons, the Mayor said, “We have been working hard to ensure that the problems faced by the people of Agartala city could be resolved as early as possible. Considering the public opinion, we have identified as many as 65 water bodies across the city which were left abandoned. These water bodies are being restored into such a shape that people can access them and use them as public assets.”

Majumder was speaking to the media persons after laying the foundation stone of the Radha Madhav temple adjacent pond. 

“After the BJP government came to power in 2018, Agartala city has witnessed an overall facelift. Based on the suggestions and recommendations of our leadership we have started multiple development projects in our wards,” said Majumder. 

According to him, Rs 86 lakh will be spent for renovation of the Radha Madhav temple Lake.
