Professor Maklesh Kumar Appointed Director of Eklavya Campus at Central Sanskrit University

Agartala: April 22: In a significant administrative reshuffle, Professor Maklesh Kumar has been appointed as the new Director of the Eklavya Campus under Central Sanskrit University. The appointment was formally announced by the Honorable Vice-Chancellor, Professor Srinivas Varkhedi. Professor Kumar succeeds Professor Prabhat Kumar Mahapatra, who has been transferred to the same role at the university’s Sadashiv Campus in Puri, Odisha.
Professor Kumar brings with him a wealth of academic and administrative experience. A native of Vegauji Buzurg village in Siddharth Nagar district, Uttar Pradesh, he completed his higher education at Sampurnanand Sanskrit University in Varanasi, earning both Acharya (M.A.) and Ph.D. degrees. His teaching career began at Ekrasanand Sanskrit College in Saiypur, where he served as a lecturer and later as an associate professor under the aegis of Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan.
He later joined the Puri campus of Central Sanskrit University as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Puranic History. His career further progressed with a stint at Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeeth in New Delhi as an Associate Professor. Eventually, he returned to the university’s Sadashiv Campus in Puri as a Professor, where he also undertook several key administrative roles, earning a reputation for dedication and leadership.
Professor Kumar was warmly welcomed at the Eklavya Campus with traditional Vedic chants and floral garlands. His arrival has generated renewed enthusiasm among faculty, staff, and students. Although the campus community is presently focused on preparations for the upcoming examinations beginning May 1, there is a strong sense of optimism surrounding his leadership.
His appointment is expected to bring new energy and direction to the Eklavya Campus as it continues to uphold the traditions of Sanskrit education and scholarship.
