Agartala: Jan 20: The Purvottar Adi Bazar, inaugurated by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, aims to promote the rich cultural heritage and products of the Northeast region, particularly Tripura. This 10-day event showcases various stalls featuring tribal handicrafts, art, paintings, fabrics, jewelry, and organic products from across the region.

During his speech, Dr. Saha highlighted the significant progress made in the Northeast region, thanks to initiatives like the "Act East Policy" introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He emphasized the government's focus on developing the most marginalized communities and working closely with organizations like TRIFED and MARKFED to uplift tribal communities.

The Purvottar Adi Bazar is part of a larger effort to promote tribal products and culture, as seen in similar events like the Aadi Bazaar organized by TRIFED in various locations, including Bhopal, Dimapur, and Dilli Haat. These initiatives aim to provide a platform for tribal artisans and communities to showcase their products and traditions, promoting economic empowerment and cultural preservation.
