Economist Kundan Singh visits BAPCL office as representative of World Bank

Agartala: May 05: Kundan Singh, Economist has visited today the office of Bagma Agri Producer Company Limited(BAPCL) here in Bagma under Udaipur subdivision of Gomati District, Tripura in which Nibedita Bhowmik and other high officials of different line departments have welcomed the Economist here in BAPCL office.
The Economist Kundan Singh has also received warm welcome offered by Sudip Majumder, Chairman of BAPCL and there was a discussion regarding different activities going on here in Gomati District with the supervision of BAPCL. The officials have elaborately interpreted all the activities of BAPCL for the benefit of farmers income doubling.
“BAPCL is doing well with five hundred share holders in the sector of agriculture in accordance with the support of ICAR, NABARD, Agriculture Department, ARDD and others for the development of agriculture sector but the company BAPCL has to be concentrated on profit maximization in order to do more development for the betterment of the company BAPCL”, said Kundan Singh, Economist.
The company BAPCL is doing for agricultural market promotion, fishery development, bamboo industries development, piggery, dairy and others. The credit linkage is an important work for development of farmers because the financial support very necessary for doing agricultural activities with an eye to do doubling farmers’ income and BAPCL doing this financial support activities with the support of Punjab National Bank (PNB) in the state Tripura.
A total of about 1500 and more agricultural families are directly and indirectly involved with BAPCL for getting different benefits in order to do their agri allied activities. The reported organisiations in India are doing different activities in collaboration with BAPCL for the benefit of farmers to increase their income.
The infrastructural issues are here in Bagma areas that there is a lack of ware houses and the farmers demanding for it to get a ware house to store their agricultural products in order to sell it in the nick of market demand, said a good numbers of farmers.
