Agartala: April 09: In a special extended session held at Dasharath Deb Smriti Bhavan, opposition leader and Politburo member Jitendra Choudhury accused the BJP government of conspiring to destroy the future of the nation's youth. Choudhury claimed that under BJP rule, the strength and potential of young people are being systematically undermined. He expressed concern over the collective impact of the BJP, Tipra Motha, and IPFT in Tripura, which he said had placed the state’s youth in a precarious situation, almost as if they were "mortgaged" by these political groups.
Choudhury's remarks pointed to a widespread crisis, suggesting that the youth of Tripura are being pushed towards destructive paths, including addiction and involvement in criminal activities. He argued that this situation is a deliberate consequence of the BJP-led government’s policies, which, according to him, are contributing to the social and moral decay of the younger generation. He painted a grim picture of a future where the aspirations and potential of the youth are being squandered under the current administration.
To counter this, Choudhury announced that the left-wing youth organization would be launching a larger movement in the coming days, aimed at steering the youth back on the right path. The session at Dasharath Deb Smriti Bhavan was part of this initiative, meant to raise awareness and galvanize support for a movement focused on safeguarding the future of Tripura's youth.
This session highlighted growing tensions between the opposition and the ruling BJP, as Choudhury’s speech sought to rally public sentiment against the government’s handling of youth issues, while promoting an alternative vision for the state’s future.
