State to distribute PVC cards replacing old paper made ration cards

The state government is set to distribute Polyvinyl Chloride Card (PVC) cards to all its ration card holders replacing the old paper-made ration cards, an official said on Friday.Printing of 4 lakh PVC cards has already got underway.“We have decided to distribute PVC ration cards replacing all the paper-made ration cards. Printing of 4 lakh PVC cards has already got underway to distribute all the ration cards holders of the state”, Food & Civil Supplies department’s Addl Secretary Sumit Lodh said.He said the department has already extended the time for filing of KYC( Know Tour Customers) by the ration card holders from March 31 to April 30.“The family members who have registered in the paper made ration cards need to visit government fair price shops to fill up KYC within the extended time”, he said.Lodh said those consumers who have already submitted KYC in their respective ration shops will get the PVC ration cards shortly in the first phase.“Not only Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC), the PVC ration cards will be distributed in all the subdivisions and blocks. The distribution of PVC cards will be done in a phase manner”, he said.
