Primary goal of science exhibitions to cultivate a scientific mindset among students

Agartala: Jan 03: The 52nd State-Level Science Exhibition held at Maharani Tulsibati Higher Secondary School for Girls in Agartala saw the participation of numerous students showcasing their scientific talents and projects. Mayor of Agartala, Deepak Majumder, delivered a keynote address emphasizing the importance of such exhibitions in nurturing a scientific mindset among students.
In his address, Majumder acknowledged that not all students could be awarded, but stressed that the primary goal of the event was to cultivate a scientific temperament among the youth. He highlighted that these exhibitions offer a unique platform for students to display their creativity, innovations, and problem-solving skills, which are essential for fostering future scientists and thinkers. The mayor further mentioned that these events play a vital role in promoting critical thinking, analytical abilities, and a hands-on approach to learning.
Majumder described science exhibitions as a space where imagination meets reality, allowing students to explore real-world applications of scientific concepts. He expressed hope that the students who excel at the state level would go on to represent Tripura at the national level, elevating the state’s reputation in the field of science.
The exhibition also included science workshops, aimed at deepening students' understanding of various scientific principles. Dignitaries who attended the event included N.C. Sharma, Director of Elementary and Secondary Education, and Ravel Hemendra Kumar, Secretary of the Education Department. After the formal proceedings, the dignitaries toured the exhibition, interacting with students and appreciating their innovative projects and hard work. The exhibition served as a platform not only for showcasing students' scientific endeavors but also for encouraging the younger generation to pursue careers in science and technology.
