Statehood Day of Uttarakhand observed at Raj Bhavan

The Uttarakhand Statehood Day was celebrated today at Tripura Raj Bhavan in a simple ceremony with the Governor Shri Indra Sena Reddy Nallu gracing the program and lighting the lamp for inauguration of the remarkable day.On the occasion, the Governor Shri Indra Sena Reddy stated that the statehood day of the Uttarakhand is celebrated here in the line of the mandate of the Union government to observe statehood days of all states in every state of the country. The celebrations are held in each state to learn about other states of the country.The Governor said that the country, amidst its varieties of languages, costumes and cultures, is one. Giving a brief anecdote of the northern state, Governor Shri Reddy said that Uttarakhand is regarded as an epithet of Divine Land. It is a very beautiful state. The holy places and pilgrim centres such as Rishikesh, Kedarnath, Badrinath are located in the state. Again, the administrative training centre for the highest level officers such as IAS, IPS, IFS and the only military school in the country is also situated in the state. The young people from this state also join the Indian Army and other central security forces at a large number and instances of self-sacrifices for the country set by many of the soldiers from this state is quite higher.The Governor said Uttarakhand is an important state in many ways and terms. As part of today’s special occasion of statehood day at Raj Bhavan, Governor Shri Reddy felicitated 18 people from Uttarakhand who work and live in the state. Among them were State Tourism Managing Director Shri Prashant Badal Negi, Dr Ashis Badole , Controller of NIT Agartala, Shri Bhupendra Singh Patengi, General Manager (mechanical) of ONGC Tripura Asset
