Agartala: Dec 30: Residents of Rajnagar have once again voiced their opposition to the eviction of Jasmine Akhtar from the area. This follows previous protests and a deputation submitted to the West Women's Police Station, demanding her arrest. Akhtar, a resident of a neighboring area near Rajnagar School, is accused of involvement in drug trafficking and other criminal activities. According to local clubs and residents, a police search of Akhtar’s house allegedly uncovered a gun and drugs. Although the police initially arrested her, she was later released, fueling further unrest among the locals.

On Thursday, the 26th, residents gathered outside the SP’s office, intensifying their demands for her arrest. The crowd's frustration boiled over as they threatened to escalate the protest if the authorities failed to act. The lack of sufficient action from the police has led the residents to seek intervention from local political leaders. As a result, a deputation was submitted today to the local MLA and Mayor, Deepak Majumdar, urging him to take action in this matter.

The residents of Rajnagar are now awaiting the Mayor’s response to their plea. They remain adamant about their concerns regarding Akhtar’s alleged activities and insist that immediate measures be taken for the safety and security of the area. The situation remains tense as the community continues to demand justice, hoping that the local authorities will heed their calls and provide a resolution to the ongoing issue.
